Gangrel

#lore #clans

The Gangrel are the closest to the Beast of any clan. Where others manage their feral nature, the Gangrel have made a kind of peace with it — or at least an honest acknowledgement of what they are. They are wanderers and predators, more at home in the wild or the margins of society than in courts and drawing rooms. Other Kindred sometimes underestimate them for this. That is usually a mistake.

Their powers are:

Weakness

When a Gangrel frenzies, the Beast slips through in a physical sense. Animal features manifest during frenzy — fur, claws, eyes that catch the dark — and unlike the controlled changes of Protean, these do not simply revert. They fade slowly over subsequent nights, leaving the Gangrel visibly marked by what their Beast did and how long it ran.

History

The Gangrel have no great courts or covenant leanings in their history, no cultural tradition of politics or scholarship. What they have is survival. They have outlasted domains that ignored them, navigated territories that killed others, and persisted through centuries where more organised Kindred rose and fell. Their elders tend to be quietly formidable in a way that surprises those who only knew them young.
